65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution: Message of the KKE to the Communist Party of Cuba

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, the International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) sent the following message (here in Greek) to the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC):

"Dear comrades, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution, on 1 January 1959, the KKE extends a warm comradely greeting to the Communist Party and the people of Cuba.

KKE condemns US government's decision to keep Cuba on the list of "State Sponsors of Terrorism"

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the decision of the Biden administration to keep Cuba on the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism, as announced on 1 March.

This is a provocative decision that reinforces the tools used by the imperialists to blackmail Cuba economically and politically and to tighten the blockade aiming at undermining the achievements of the Cuban people and promoting their counter-revolutionary plans.

KKE expresses solidarity with Cuba's Communist Party and people in face of Matanzas fire

On the occasion of the disastrous fire at the oil facility in Matanzas, the International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) sent a solidarity message to the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).
As Rizospastis reports, the message reads:
“Dear Comrades,

Please convey to the Central Committee of the PCC, the government and the people of Cuba our internationalist solidarity for the large fire and destruction caused by powerful lightning at the Matanzas oil facilities.

Cuban revolutionary Jose Ramon Balaguer dies at 90

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Saturday lamented the death of Commander Jose Ramon Balaguer at the age of 90. 

On behalf of his comrades of the @PCC, which he gave prestige with his exemplarity, and the people of #Cuba, to which he devoted his life tirelessly, our heartfelt embrace to the family and friends of Commander Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera, the president wrote on his Twitter account.

Cuba's Communist Party and KKE reaffirm fraternal relations during meeting in Havana

A meeting between the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was held yesterday in Havana. 
 
The member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and Vice President of the Council of State, Roberto Morales Ojeda, received a delegation from the KKE, headed by Giorgos Marinos, member of the Political Bureau and MP.

Morales Ojeda expressed his gratitude for the firm position of the KKE in defense of the Revolution, as well as for the persistent struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S on the island.

Cuba to host the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties in 2022

Havana, Cuba's capital city, will be the hosting place of the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) on October 27-29, 2022. 

According to 902 portal, the decision was taken in yesterday's session of the Working Group of IMCWP in Lisbon, under the participation of 25 Communist and Workers Parties,

Excerpts from speech delivered by Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro, July 26, 1988: 

There is one very essential idea, and that is never to forget where we are situated, which is not in the Black Sea, but in the Caribbean, not 90 miles from Odessa, but 90 miles from Miami, with a border on our own land, in an occupied part of our territory, with imperialism. Our people are in charge in our country; and our Party is responsible for its policy, its line, its defense.

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez elected as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba

President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez was elected today, Monday, as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, during the first plenary meeting of the leadership body, elected by the delegates to the 8th Party Congress Sunday evening.
 
 
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz made this announcement after reporting the 14 members of the Political Bureau, including nine returning to the body and five added as new members:

The 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba kicks off today in Havana

The 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) begins today, Friday 16 April, in Havana. 

Delegates to the 8th Party Congress from several provinces arrived in the Cuban capital on Wednesday night, excited to attend the historic event and honored to represent millions of Cubans.

In strict compliance with COVID-19 sanitary protocols, delegations from five eastern provinces, plus, Camagüey and Ciego de Avila, were welcomed by Party Central Committee staff at the Palco Hotel, next to event’s venue, the Convention Center, in Havana.

Cuba's Communist Party prepares for its VIII Congress

The Eighth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) will be held on April 16-19, 2021 in Havana.

This Thursday, March 4, in strict compliance with established sanitary protocols, plenary sessions of Party Provincial Committees will be held, during which the delegation from each province to the Eighth Congress will be elected.

Last February, the Political Bureau analyzed and reaffirmed the scheduling of the Congress. During these first months of 2021, a broad, democratic process of election of the pre-candidates for delegate to the Congress took place in grassroots branches, from which thousands of valuable proposals emerged.

Cuba and Vietnam celebrate 60 years of a genuine friendship

Shortly after the successful revolution, on December 2, 1960, the Republic of Cuba, under the leadership of Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro, became the first country in the Western Hemisphere to establish full diplomatic relations with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

This week, Cuban and Vietnamese senior leaders celebrated the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which they described as exemplary.

Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) held virtual meeting

Lefteris Nikolaou Alavanos, a member of the European Parliament from the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and a member of the party's Department of International Relations, held a virtual meeting with Juan Carlos Marsan Aguilera, vice-head of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee. 

They were accompanied by the Greek side by Aris Evangelidis, head of Latin America of the Department of International Relations of the KKE and by the Cuban side by Ileana Hernández, Head of Europe of the Department of International Relations of the PCC, Silvia Colunga official of the department and Cuba's ambassador to Greece Zelmys María Dominguez Cortina.

KKE: The Cuban Revolution affirmed the vitality of Marxism-Leninism

In a message addressed to the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), the International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) salutes the 61st anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. 

In the message, which was published yesterday in 'Rizospastis', the KKE points out that "the Cuban Revolution, the first socialist revolution in the american continent, was one of the greatest events that marked the 20th century, inspired the struggle of the suppressed and exploited ones in the whole world and proved that the people, with their struggle, have the power to overthrow capitalist barbarity".

KKE: Condolences for the death of Cuban hero José Ramón Fernández

According to 902.gr portal the International Relations Section of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) sent to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) a message of condolences over the death of Cuban communist, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Bay of Pigs Commander, José Ramón Fernández Álvarez. 

The KKE expresses its "sincere condolences for the death of comrade José Ramón Fernández Álvarez, retired Major General and Hero of Cuba, who played an important role- by the side and under the commands of Fidel - in repelling the counterrevolutionary imperialist intervention of the USA in the Bay of Pigs in 1960".

Turkish and Cuban communists honored the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution

Together with the José Martí Cuba Friendship Association, a member of ICAP (Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos), the Communist Party of Turkey organized a solidarity week with socialist Cuba and hosted a delegation of five, including representatives of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban Parliament and ICAP. 

Responding to the call of TKP, thousands of friends of Cuba gathered in a series of events organized from the 25th of November to the 1st of December in three major cities of Turkey; Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

In Istanbul, under the title "Great Humanity is 60 years old", a large solidarity event was attended by hundreds of people, including representatives from the Communist Parties of Cuba (PCC) and Turkey (TKP).

Cuba's new Constitution ratifies the leading role of the Communist Party as the nation's organized vanguard

Τhe draft of the new Constitution ratifies the leading role of Cuba's Communist Party as a fundamental pillar of unity and of the political, economic and social order.

In its article 5, the document submitted from August 13 to November 15 to a popular consultation establishes that 'The Communist Party of Cuba, unique, based on Marti's ideas, loyalist and Marxist-Leninist, organized vanguard of the Cuban nation, based on its democratic character and permanent link with the people, is the highest leading force of society and the State'.

Miguel Díaz-Canel: The Revolution doesn't end with guerrillas - We shall continue

On the morning of April 19, a historic date on which not only is the first defeat of Yankee imperialism in the Americas commemorated, but Cuba also sees the inauguration of a new government that makes evident the continuity of the new generations with the legacy of the historic generation that founded the Cuban Revolution in the highest leadership positions of the country, compañero Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, offered his first speech as President of the Councils of State and of Ministers of Cuba.

He began by recognizing the leadership of Army General Raúl Castro, the candidate for deputy to have received the most votes in the recent general elections; as well as the Comandantes of the Revolution, “who on being in this room offer us the opportunity to embrace history,” he noted.
He also referred to the “dark attempts to destroy us” of those who have not been able to destroy “our faith.”

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez: Who is Cuba's new leader?

Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez has been officially nominated for President of the Republic of Cuba's Council of State. 

Born in 1960 in the province of Villa Clara, Díaz Canel  graduated as an Electronics Engineer in 1982. He had been a member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and a professor at Martha Abreu Central University of Las Villas. During the 1980s he was a Young Communist League cadre and in the early 90s he began his work as a Party cadre. Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel fullfiled his international mission in Nicaragua, being the Secretary of the Young Communist League in the country.
